The right router for the job

A one-bedroom flat and a fiber rollout across ten thousand homes need different hardware. Here's how the Uncord range maps onto real deployments.

Apartments & compact homes

One or two bedrooms, a dozen devices, streaming and video calls. AC1200 covers this comfortably without paying for headroom you won't use.

Choose the X12 if fiber enters your flat directly; the R12 if you already have an ONT.

Large homes & villas

Multiple floors, thick walls and a device count that keeps climbing. Wi-Fi 6 with high-power front-end modules on both bands, plus a second unit meshed over EasyMesh for the far corners.

Pair any two Uncord routers over EasyMesh for whole-home roaming.

Small offices & shops

Wired desks, card machines and a network that cannot drop mid-transaction. Four Gigabit LAN ports and a 2.5G WAN so the router is never the bottleneck.

The R30's 2.5G WAN suits multi-gigabit business plans.

ISP & fiber rollouts

Deploy at volume with GPON and EPON compatibility, remote management for your support desk, and WPA3 out of the box. One SKU family across your whole subscriber base.

Homes that still need a landline

Keep the handset working over the same fiber line. The RJ11 port carries VoIP alongside your broadband, so there's no second box on the shelf.

X31 for Wi-Fi 6, X13 for the value AC1200 build.

Dead zones & difficult layouts

Long corridors, outbuildings or a room the signal never reached. Every Uncord router is EasyMesh compatible, so a second unit extends coverage without a new network name.

A dedicated Uncord Mesh system is on the way.

Three questions, one answer

Work down the list and you'll land on the right model.

1

Does the fiber cable come straight into your home?

Yes
Choose an X model. The fiber plugs directly in, no separate ONT.

2

More than about fifteen devices, or a home over two floors?

Yes
Go Wi-Fi 6 / AX3000: X31, X30 or R30.
No
Wi-Fi 5 / AC1200 is plenty: X13, X12 or R12.
3

Do you still use a landline handset?

Yes
You need a VoIP model: the X31 or the X13.
No
Any model in the range will do.
