What the Uncord app collects
The Uncord app is a self-care app for hardware you own. You add an Uncord router, see a dashboard of how it is running, and change settings such as the Wi-Fi name and password, parental controls and schedules. To do that it handles:
- Account details: the email address or mobile number you register with, and a password.
- Router identifiers: the model, serial number, MAC address and firmware version of each router you add, so we can link it to your account and offer the right settings and updates.
- Network status and settings: whether the router is online, its Wi-Fi network names, the Wi-Fi password you set, and the devices connected to it, including the names and MAC addresses those devices report.
- Parental control settings: the rules, device groupings and time schedules you create.
- Diagnostics: crash and performance data that helps us fix faults in the app.
Your Wi-Fi password and parental control rules are settings you ask us to apply to your router. We use them to configure your device and to restore your settings if you reinstall the app. We do not use them for any other purpose.
Android requires location permission before an app can scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks. Where that permission is requested it is used only to complete router setup, never to track you. To confirmConfirm the exact permissions the released build requests.
To confirmConfirm whether an account is mandatory or whether a router can also be managed locally, and whether the app sends push notifications.
